'Coup De Grace' the fantastic best of-album from Swedish jazz pop duo KOOP. From the Do-It-Yourself-school in the highest degree, KOOP have paved their own way based on a feeling and idea of how they wanted to create music. Four albums to their name they are now a respected act in both the dance DJ scene and the jazz scene and their songs have been heard by millions of people on TV and radio. This time-capsule, or Coup de Grâce, is a document of their album history and the songs that moved us on radio and dance floors. When listening to Koop"s music it is somehow easy to believe that it is played by a small orchestra, but in fact the music is based on samples: thousands of small clips from records puzzled together into new songs. All the drums, strings, horn sections and choirs are actually sampled! This is a very time consuming way to make music (it's one of the reasons it takes such long time to make a Koop album), but it's the only way to create the surreal Koop sound. The tracks are all taken from the albums "Sons Of Koop", "Waltz For Koop" and "Koop Islands" this is an essential range item! Koop"s music has been used in various TV shows, Films, and advertisements including the current Coca-Cola commercials with the single "Strange Love" which is included on this album and features the Norwegian Jazz vocalist and comedian HILDE LOUISE ASBJØRNSEN.
