Release Date: 31 October 2011
"The Sea Of Memories" is the long awaited fifth studio album by the newly reformed, iconic British alternative rock band Bush. This is their first release in ten years, since the album "Golden State" in 2001, and when they disbanded in 2002. The album follows on their strong, signature sound of throbbing bass and thunderous drums playing underneath a multitude of melodic guitar riffs and chord progressions, led by lead singer Gavin Rossdale's distinctive and brilliant vocals. "The Sea Of Melodies" is, however, a much more maturely written record, amply displaying how much the members of Bush have grown in the past decade, and they've even somehow improved their ability to write a catchy yet emotive hook. The album is lead by the singles "The Afterlife" and "The Sound Of Winter", giving great insight in to what any fan should expect the album to sound like. "The Sound Of Winter", in particular, is a raw, powerful and passionate song, bearing all within the hardened emtoional lyrics and swarming with instrumental prowess, particuarly with the guitar. Despite only reforming with only two out of the four original members, Bush has come back with a bang, and this album is more than worth the wait - C.E.
