CHRIS THOMPSON was the lead vocalist for MANFRED MANN’s EARTH BAND, and sang on their chart topping 1976 hit ‘Blinded by the Light’. He has also been featured on albums by ELTON JOHN, OZZY OSBOURNE, TINA TURNER, and RAY CHARLES amongst many others. ‘Timeline’ is a sweeping review of CHRIS THOMPSON’s career to date (originally released 2009) and a host of previously unheard performances that remind you of how great he has been, while illustrating how why he is still so important today. The album is divided into 5 sections; the first ‘The Brand New’ gives us 5 songs taken from the album ‘Rediscovery’. The ‘unexpected’ covers THE ZOMBIES ‘She’s Not There’, FLEETWOOD MAX ‘Don’t Stop’, and ‘Broad Daylight’ by GABRIEL RIOS. ‘The fan stuff’ reprises three songs from THOMPSON’s previous album Backtrack. The final part ‘The concert’ gives four old MANFRED MANN favourites recorded live in Norway in 2004.
